Roxby Healthy Community Plan
Healthy Environs worked with Council staff and a community Steering Committee (including representatives of the Roxby Health Service, BHP Billiton and residents) to develop the Roxby Healthy Community Plan.
OzChild – Cultural Support
OzChild is piloting the Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO) program from their Campbelltown and Blacktown operations in New South Wales (NSW). TFCO is an evidence-based treatment program offering an alternative to institutional, residential and group care placements for children and young people with severe emotional and behavioural disorders.
New Home Energy Efficiency Compliance Inspections
Healthy Environs led a major project under the National Energy Efficient Buildings Project (NEEBP). With a consortium of partners (Sustain SA, dSquared and Leading-Edge Town Planners) we looked at the type of inspection regime that might be useful in making sure Australia's housing is performing in a truly energy efficient manner.
Town of Gawler – Environmental Management Plan
Healthy Environs worked for the Town of Gawler to develop their Environmental Management Plan (EMP). The EMP also provides a framework for Council to support environmental improvements through collaboration with community and business stakeholders as well as guide its internal operations.
A Plan for Better Living and Better Health in the Eastern Region
Working with the Eastern Health Authority (EHA) Constituent Councils of Burnside, Campbelltown, Prospect, Norwood Payneham & St Peters and Walkerville, Healthy Environs developed the region’s first Public Health Plan. This regional approach built on the existing successful collaboration for shared environmental health services through EHA as well as the initiatives of the Eastern Region Alliance.
SA Food Business Notification and Fees Review Project
Healthy Environs was engaged by the LGA to undertake a review into the current South Australian food business notification system and inspection fee structure.
Council Reviews - The Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act
The Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act 2016 aims to help communities resolve local environmental nuisance matters. Under the Act, Councils undertake an array of functions and responsibilities to regulate local nuisance and littering within their area. The litter provisions of the Act came into effect on the 1st of February 2017 and the nuisance provisions of the Act commenced on the 1st of July 2017.
Together for Regional Health – The Barossa Light and Lower Northern Region
Healthy Environs initially worked with The Barossa Council, District Council of Mallala, Town of Gawler and Light Regional Council (with support from the Barossa RDA) to develop their Regional Public Health Plan 'A Sustainable Region for a Healthy Community'.
Mount Isa Environmental Management Plan
Healthy Environs recently completed a project with the Mount Isa City Council – helping the council to develop its first Environmental Management Plan.
City of Mitcham’s Living Well Plan
Healthy Environs facilitated the development of the City of Mitcham’s Living Well Plan working in collaboration with Council staff. Living Well is Council’s Public Health and Wellbeing Plan to guide what Council does to protect and promote public health over the next five years.
